Unsolved Murder

Wydell Littleton Murder

Reward of up to $1,000

On Tuesday, April 3, 2012, at about 11:07 a.m. officers responded to a shooting call in the 4100 block of F Street, in the Mount Hope neighborhood of the city of San Diego.

The investigation has revealed that the victim, 52 year old Wydell Littleton, was walking on 4100 F Street when he approached a stolen white Ford Expedition SUV that was stopped along the south curb. The victim was shot as he stopped and spoke with the driver at the driver’s door of the SUV. The victim fell to the ground and the SUV sped away eastbound on F Street. The SUV then turned and continued southbound 42 nd Street, eastbound Market Street and then southbound Interstate 805.

Shortly after the report of the shooting, citizens reported a crash of the possible suspect vehicle at the Palm Avenue/47 Street exit to Interstate 805. The vehicle travelled off road through the pickle weed, crashing over the Palm Avenue center divide, flattening all four tires; disabling the vehicle. The suspect abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot.

The suspect is described as a black male, 22 to 26 years in age, clean shaven, having a very thin build and wearing a black shirt and black pants. He was further described as having braided hair and a wide, flat nose. He was last seen running in the 4700 block of Solola Avenue.
